Week 3 Day 1 - Weight Training for Strength and Power - 5 X 5

Monday 7PM


Today was the first day of the third week in my new power cycle. I am back to the first workout but with more weight. Things went well today. I think I work better at night, my numbers seem better than in the AM workouts.

Work Out Plan
chins 5 - 5 x 40 Towel bench 5 - 5 X 325 squats 5 - 5 x 265

Next week I will do one plate, I am looking forward to that. I felt that I did a good enough job that I can go up next week.

Things felt great next week I will go up 10 more pounds. I had a good pause at the bottom and a strong push. The last one on each set was a little tough but I was able to do it so I will go up in weight next week.

I think I will stay here next week. I was happy with my lifts but do not feel I am ready to go up in weight. I felt my form was off on a few and I did not hit bottom on a few, because of that I will not go up. I do not think you should jump too fast with squats, the form has to be perfect and if it is not the weight is too heavy. I want to go up but I have to leave my ego at the door. Plus I would not fool too many people if I did a quarter squat even if it was 450lbs. It does hurt my pride a little to post my workouts where my bench is bigger than my squat. Well I guess I will just have to work harder on my legs.
