Week 2 day 5 - Power Phase Weight training

 off 3 inch block
3 sets 315 x 5
Rest - 3:00

5 sets 185 x 5
Rest - 3:00


I just wanted to get in the gym today and do a little something. I did not push any sets and consider today an active rest day. Sunday will be assistance work and Monday will be 5x5.

Looking strong, Jason! Do you prefer sumo style over conventional or are you using it to strengthen weak points?

Hello John, I find that I lack flexiblity and the sumo style deadlift allows me to get deep. If I stick with conventional deads I get more bach and less hips. To get my squat numbers where they should be I need stronger hips. I find that deads off a block make a big difference too. I do not think I am ready for those yet as I do not get deep and just pull with my back.
