Legs - on the way to heavy lifts

Weight Training

Legs
- Volume Phase -

Thursday 5PM

I am going to start to move away from the volume bodybuilding phase and start to train for strength and more power. After traing with light weight , about 60% of my one rep max, the next few weeks will not be all that heavy. I do hope to work up to some big numbers, well big for me, by the end of April.

Sumo Deadlifts
405 x 2, 4 sets - 385 x 2
Rest - 2:30
I lowered the weight from 405 to 385 because I did not think I could do all 5 sets at that weight. I also wanted more reps even though I only did 2. I felt that at 405 I would only be able to do 1 rep and at 385 I thought I could do 5 reps. As you can see the 385 did not work out the way I had planned. I guess there is next week.

Box Squats
5 - 225 x 3
Off 8" box, that is low. The depth and the pause at the bottom makes 225 heavy.
Rest: 2:00

I am still a little sore from squat day so that may have played into the poor showing. I think next week will be better. Friday I will go heavy on chest and do some triceps.

All the best in your weight and programs.
Jason
