Heavy legs

Weight Training

Legs

Monday PM

Dead lifts
Rest - 2:00
385 x 3, 405 x 2, 425 x 2, 445 x 1, 385 x 4
The lifts felt good today. The 445 did not kill me but I wanted to end with a lift so I did not add more, save for next week. All lifts were done without a belt, raw.

Step Up's
5 - 180 x 8
Rest - 1:00
Thesee take so much out of me, but I was able to do all reps and sets. When i do the step up I try to pull with the hamstring. I dig my heal into the box and pull myself up that way.

Hyper Ext
5 - 135 x 10
Rest - :45
I hate these but they work. Did all sets and reps.

All the best in your weight and programs.
Jason

Do you find the step ups help your deads? I'm thinking about adding these to my workout, but i'm not sure if they will help.
The workouts look good. That's a real nice dead. Are you still standing at 195? I hover at 182 to 184.

Hello Lou; I do the step ups to help the squat, and they work wonders.
They do help the deadlift because the lead leg is is in the same position for the two lifts. A step up is will do more for your lifts than a leg press could ever dream of.

There are 2 ways I do them.
1 - I use my quad to push up on the box
2 - or sometimes I use the hamstrings to pull myself up and some times over the box

for the most part I stay around 195. I am working hard this cycle and expect to see a slight increase in the weight.
thanks for the comments, all the best in your weight training, and I hope I was able to clearly answer your question.
