CrossFit offers three levels of trainer certification: Level 1, Level 2, and a Coach's Certificate.

On completing a Level 1 CrossFit certification, attendees will have sufficient understanding of CrossFit's methods, concepts, and movements to continue independent and successful development as a CrossFit trainer or athlete.

Topics covered include:

Epistemological model, fitness defined, CrossFit defined, bioenergetics, biomechanics, cardiorespiratory conditioning, phase adaptation of endurance training, modal transference of conditioning, stamina, strength, power, speed, flexibility, coordination, accuracy, balance, agility, Olympic lifts, gymnastics fundamentals, functional exercises, variance, intensity and power, programming, neuroendocrine adaptation, program implementation, special populations, theoretical hierarchy of athletic development, nutrition, hyperinsulinism, macronutrient ratios, equipment, team workouts, core training, and wellness continuum.
