CSCS - Certification

Today I received an email notifying me that I have earned my certified strength and conditioning specialist, CSCS credentials. That is some good news after a long wait and lots of studying.

I did not get the scores from the test as of yet so I am not sure how well i did. Passing is 70% so I know I have at least a 70.

I am glad that exam is done with, now I am looking at my next certification. There are a number I am looking at but it is so hard to tell what will be the best for me and my goals. I am looking into the C.H.E.K Certification Program. It is a little on the pricey side but looks as though it may have some value. One thing I do not care for is all the courses you have to take as prerequisites. Some seem as though they are just a money grab. You need a cretin level of competency before you are allowed to get into his program so the simple entry level classes necessary do not seem appropriate.

I would love to hear what others think, about CHECK or any other sports training certification.

All the best in your weight training.

CSCS Exam

Sorry I have not been up to date with my postings but, I have been studying for my certified strength and conditioning specialists exam, CSCS. I write Saturday have been studying as much as possible, I still made it to the gym most days but have not had the time to post workout.

Here is the NSCA description of a CSCS

CSCS

The CSCS program was initiated in 1985 to identify individuals who possess the knowledge and skills to design and implement safe and effective strength and conditioning programs. The program encourages a higher level of competence among practitioners that, in turn, raises the quality of strength training and conditioning programs provided by those who are CSCS certified. To be eligible to take the exam, you must hold a BA/BS degree, be enrolled as a college senior at an accredited college or university, or hold a degree in chiropractic medicine, and be CPR certified.
